Great for the money

Bought three of these in the counter height style. You do have to put them together but at this price they are well worth it. Only one problem. One of the holes for the screws was not drilled all the way through. This was not a big deal since I have a drill. At least the hole was in the correct place. It only took about an hour to do all three. Once you have them together they look way more expensive than they are. They are very sturdy and feel as if they should last quite a while. Only time will tell, but at this point I am extremely pleased.

We bought two of these stools and they appear to be very solidly built. It took a while to put them together because the fasteners were all hex head bolts and there were quite a few of them. But all of the pieces lined up well, the instructions were clear and the stools are comfortable to sit on. The materials are good quality and the finish was applied very well. We looked at several stools in stores before we took a chance on ordering these on line and it turned out well because these are better quality at a lower price than what we were seeing in stores.

We wanted stools with cushion seats and backs for the bar area between our kitchen and great room of our new home. We choose these because the "fruitwood" color was a near perfect match for our great room end tables (iceboox tables purchased from Pottery Barn some time ago). We actually purchased this exact same brand of stools (we bought three total) online from Target and experienced absolutely no delivery problems.Each stool arrived in its own box. Although somewhat heavy/bulky, I could move the boxes myself without help. The parts for the stools were extremely well-packaged (see uploaded photo), and out of the three we received there were NO missing or damaged parts. There was a single-page sheet of instructions for assembly which included drawings and minimal text, but the overall procedure was relatively simple. What made the assembly more difficult, however, is that the screws required use of an Allen wrench. The first problem here was that the included wrench was actually too large to fit into many of the spaces where it was needed to be used. The second issue was that in many instances, the screws were JUST long enough to be screwed in properly, meaning that a huge amount of patience was required. I found that I only was able to assemble one stool per day, and my BEST time (for Stool #3) was about 1 hour, 10 minutes.On the plus side, the finished stools look great (see photos)! They definitely appear to be sturdy, high-quality furniture. Since we have them on wood flooring, I particularly appreciate the rubber feet on the bottom of each leg. In addition, the stools are comfortable to sit on, and they swivel nicely. Finally, they come in various other colors, so you are sure to find one to match your own decor. If you are willing to put in a bit of hard work for the assembly up front, then I would highly recommend these stools.

Good bar stools for the price - delivery needs improvement

After looking for suitable bar stools for the existing wooden built-in bar in our new home, these seemed like a good match for the wood color at a reasonable price. As other customers have noted, the wood color shown in the online images is pretty accurate.There is quite a lot of assembly - it took me a whole afternoon to put four chairs together, and with a professional and extensive toolkit. Once built up, they are quite solid, and the overall quality is very good for the price.Delivery was curious. We were due to host a local club meeting, so we needed the chairs quickly to help seat as many guests as possible. There was a 3-day weekend in between, so I paid extra to have the chairs delivered within 24 hours. Sure enough, they turned up the next working day after the weekend. When I opened the first box, the chair inside was black, not fruitwood as ordered. When I checked, it said "Black" quite clearly on the outside of the box. The whole delivery was the wrong color. I notified customer service, and a very helpful man arranged for a new delivery, and for collection of the old chairs. Sure enough, that all happened 48 hours later, and the correct chairs were delivered on the morning of our gathering. The first guests started arriving just as I was putting the last chair together!Then, one week later, the doorbell rang, and a UPS guy announced he had a delivery for me of four bar stools. I guess a less honest customer would have taken them too, but I pointed out that we'd already had that delivery, so these should be returned. So in the end, only four out of twelve stools were delivered correctly. What a waste of energy and manpower!Still, we're happy with the chairs, and they arrived (just) in time. No offer of a rebate on the extra I paid for 24-hour delivery though.

A fun afternoon!

The fun afternoon (a couple of hours is all) was spent putting these together. All the parts were there and it went together nicely! Leave loose until it's all together and check screw lengths - two sizes of them look very much the same, but aren't.The chairs work well but we need to see how well they hold up.Nice and light for moving (compared to the old steel ones). We put cabinet bumpers on the vertical part of the back support for soft landings against the counter face. They look good and we're pleased about the whole process!
