Unsatisfied with the type of stools that one commonly sees at the counter of auto parts stores, etc, I searched hard for a stool that would work for me in my gunsmithing shop.I am a large guy, and don't like to sit up too high, and am also sensitive as to how high the foot rest is on stools.Most stools are too tall, and have the foot rest awkwardly high for me. The foot rest is also not very wide, so it stays out of the way when you don't want it.I use these in a gunsmithing shop, and have several of them after having tried one.They are heavy duty enough for a 350lbs guy, but can be easily picked up and toted to the other side of even a large shop.The quality is very good, consistent with what I have found with all the Seville Classic products.This stool is very easy to put together, unlike some of the other Seville Classic products, which require extensive time to assemble. I think that this comes in four pieces; assembly also requires no tools.The seat is wide enough so that it does not attempt sodomy on the sitter, and while not padded, one could easily use some 3M spray adhesive to attach some padding if one wished.I will buy a few more of these, particularly since it is a Prime product and 2 day shipping is free to me.

I purchased one of these for my shop after a few months of (slowly) researching stools and seating alternatives. These stools received excellent reviews, so I decided to give them a shot.Shipping for the stool was ridiculously fast -- I received the stool in the mail two days after ordering on a "Super Saver" shipping option. Packaging was excellent and the stool components were in perfect shape when it arrived. It took all of five minutes to assemble the stool (no tools required) and I was up and running.This thing is SOLID and of exceptional build quality, and easily supports my very large frame (6' 4", 250 lbs). Most importantly, it is comfortable. I really like the soft curves on the side of the stool seat -- no sharp edges which lead to a sore bottom and numb legs. Adjustment up and down is easy (and provides great range for short or tall people), and the swivel action is effortless.I was so impressed with my first stool that I just ordered a second stool for my 10-year old son so that we can build stuff together in the workshop.Highly recommended.

Before being released from the hospital the occupational therapist discussed strategies and accommodations for me to have as normal a life as possible at home. Being able to cook was important to me, although standing to do it was not an option. I read many reviews on numerous kitchen-counter-high stools and selected this one, mostly based on the small footprint, stability, adjustability and swivel function.I have now had it for 7 weeks and I continue to be very pleased. It is extremely sturdy and stable. It's stainless steel surface is clean and easy to keep that way. I am able to move it into a corner of my kitchen to access stove, counter and sink from a seat position by swiveling. It swivels easily but not on it's on accord. When I'm done it is not too heavy or unwieldily to move out of the way.I highly recommend this product.

The height is right, and I can sit on it. It does not try to impale me when I do. I like that feature.The piston is strong. When you sit on it, it does not drop far.

This stool purchased through Amazon has a nice finish, a comfortable seat, and a powerful, smooth lift mechanism. Assembly is a snap. However, two of the four legs are shorter than the others by about 1/2 inch (yikes), so the stool is unbalanced and rocks. Since I am using this in my woodshop, it is no problem to epoxy a few flat disks to the bottoms of the short legs. This is clearly less than ideal, especially given the cost, so I would advise looking elsewhere if you want a stool that is ready to go right out of the box.
