A Beautiful Bed with No Problems for MeJoseph BreunigI just constructed this bed two days ago and I want to add my experience to the mix of reviews. First of all, the bed came in four boxes and it was packaged carefully to help prevent damage. I unpacked everything and inventoried and sorted the parts and I found nothing missing. Each piece of wood had a letter sticker for ID. This took about 30-45 minutes, but was worth it for peace of mind and to speed construction.I was impressed with the quality of the wood and the hardware. About 90% of the construction is achieved with the included allen wrench and a Phillips-head screwdriver. I had no trouble lining up the parts and everything fit together the first time. The process of actually attaching everything lasted about 2 hours. I was being slow and methodical. There is only one part of the process that requires two people: lifting the bed component onto the bottom part (you build the upper and bottom parts separately).If you include clean up time, I took about three hours to create this bed.It is a beautiful bed and my daughter is very pleased with it. It feels very substantial, and best of all: it can be taken apart for transport when she heads off to college.If it is helpful to know, I have put together various kinds of purchased furniture before and so I would call myself better than average in the experience department. Yet nothing in the construction process seemed to be difficult. The best advice in building this is to simply take your time.No comments on shipping or customer service as I had no problems.
Great loft bed with comfortable seatingAmazon CustomerWe bought this bed for our young son and he loves it! It looks great, it's quite sturdy and wasn't hard to assemble. The seating is really pretty comfortable and there is plenty of head clearance when my husband and I sit on the chairs (he's 5'11" and I'm 5'6".) The table is sturdy and is a great place for Lego creation assembly, and I expect it will be a great place for doing homework. I suggest ordering some throw pillows to place behind kids when they sit to do homework or read because it's sized for adults to sit comfortably at the table. Converting the table and seating to a bed takes less than a minute. I LOVE having the extra usable space when the lower bunk isn't being used for guests. We purchased a 6" deep mattress and the side rails are sufficiently high that it would really take some work for our child to go over the edge while sleeping.I'm very happy with this purchase!
BeautifulDonnabellIt came out looking just like the image and it is beautiful! The cushions are very soft on the fabric, but firm for cushioning. The cushions are not too firm that they wouldn't be comfortable.I just need to get a mattress to go up top.
Nice bedjsully226The only problem i have had with this bed is the table getting scratched up when placing it down. The seat cushions sit on top of the table to transform into the bottom bunk. The cushions have staples in them that scratched our table all up. At first we didnt know where the scratches were coming from, then after the 2nd time the bed was converted, more scratches appeared. So now our table is just messed up and looks ragged. So you may want to place a sheet or blanket on the table before placing cushions.
CheapMr. WhatThis product emits strong fumes when you open it, which takes 2-3 days to clear. Not ideal for a young child. Various parts were defective, and the company makes the replacement process a hassle; you have to take pictures, etc. (Do you really think I want an extra screw or wooden plank just because???) The company who fulfilled the order (Coaster Home Furnishings) has a ridiculous policy - you're supposed to inspect all contents when the product is delivered - that means opening four huge boxes with many, many parts, while you ask the truck driver to wait. Not happening. And the product was delivered late. The product itself is cheap, but what do you expect for $600? The desk is warped, some of the planks they provided was cracked, etc. When I complained the customer service person gave me a script, like "you should have read our fine print" type of response, and our policies are here to "protect you", the consumer.
Great product, poor shipping time - but rectifiedLMSAstro4This bed is simply wonderful and is perfect for my daugter's room. It is truly unique and we get nothing but compliments. It was a bit difficult to put together as some of the holes weren't drilled, but all in all - great product.I do need to say that the seller should not claim 5 day delivery. It is misleading as this bed first has to get to their shippers distribution center and then the shipper schedules an appointment with you. And the appointment can only be between 12-4pm during the week.I made a complaint regading this and VisionDecor contacted me within 2 days of my issue. They gave me a full refund of my shipping costs and indicated that they just started working with this shpper and are working out some kinks in delivery scheduling.
UGH!!!nickelMy bed was shipped as promised. I hired someone to come put it together for me because it came in 4 big boxes. One board was warped right off the bat but we kept going. He got the bottom bunk together fine. On the top bunk he had issues getting the boards to line up. The boards were not the same length. When we went to put the top bunk on the posts did not match up. He spent a couple of hours putting a bed together and my daughter still did not have a bed. We did not want to take it down until we knew what to do. That was on 1/21/12. I tried contacting Visiondecor or Monday 1/23/12. Could not get through to a live person and the automated said I have to send an email. I did that. I got an email back 2 days later saying they would send replacement parts but need all the details. I sent another email telling what I need but I wanted to speak to a person. 2 days later I got another email that he tried to call but will call me back. Never heard from him again. I was FINALLY able to get a live person on 2/2/12. I am sending the stupid bed back. My daughter has been sleeping with me all this time because she does not have a functional bed in her room right now.I would not recommend this company because their customer service response time is horrible. I has taken me almost 2 weeks to get in touch with a live person!!!!
