I bought 3 of these to put in front of the kitchen counter. I had to research how many of them could fit in the space available. They are somewhat difficult to put together because of the contortions I had to do to get the seat on, but I'm a senior citizen and it may be easier for younger more versatile people. Before putting it together I had new seat covers put on them because I wanted deep blue to match my other furniture.There is what I consider a major problem with the chairs. All of them have areas on the seat backs on the top that have no paint. They are each 2 inches long by 1/8 inch wide; the most noticeable place on the chairs. I plan on repainting the top bar soon. I kept them because they are exactly the chair I wanted.They look good and function as specified.

They are a brighter white than they appear in the picture. I was hoping for an off-white, but the description does say white, so I cannot complain much.They are comfortable, work well, swivel nicely, and were pretty straightforward to assemble. There were, however, about 20 allen bolts for each stool (allen wrench included in package).The edges of the wood are sanded a bit, so the wood shows through. A bit of shabby chic touch, I think, that I could have done without. Note, also, that the bolts do show on the inside edges of the foot rest, so if you like your furniture to hide all its bolts, beware.

I wanted to try these counter-height bar stools but was really nervous due to the negative reviews. I ordered only one at first in case they were indeed crap. Today I am ordering the 2nd one I need. They are fine! No problems so far.. assembled easily, comfortable, sturdy, look great. If I have any problems with it after they are used for a while, I will amend my review, but for now..very satisfied. Satisfied enough to order more.

They look really nice assembled in our kitchen. They seem very sturdy (time will tell) and all legs are level with the floor, i.e., no rocking. One complaint is that the precision of the manufacturing is not as good as it could be. some of the parts had to be slightly forced to fit. But, in the end they did. The instructions are also very minimal. More assembly pictures would have been nice. One suggestion when assembling is to NOT tighten any of the leg screws (there are 16) until all of the screws are in and the chair is loosely assembled.Overall, for the price, these are great counter height stools.

These stools seem solid enough and look nice. I bought three of them. They seem sturdy but have not been used much. One of the stools came with four missing metric hex screws so I could not install the seat. The other screws were included. The instructions that came with the stool said to call Boraam directly if there were assembly problems or missing parts. Boraam's phone system was down for a few days, they did not work Thanksgiving week, and when they came back the customer service people were unavailable and I had to leave voicemail. After waiting for days for Boraams customer service to call back, I called again and pushed zero and talked to a live person who finally did help me. I did not like having to wait a couple of weeks to order the missing screws. I would have bought them locally if they were a "regular design". Fortunately the screws arrived from Illinois after four days.Update 7/28/2013:The stools are holding up well. They are used at my kitchen bar. I am still satisfied with them.

I purchased two of these Boraam Magellan 29' Swivel Bar Stools to go with a half pub table in my game room. The assemble was easy enough, be sure to not tighten all of the bolts until you have all of the bolts slightly screwed in. The leather "like" is a medium/high grade vinyl, which isn't a problem because we are recovering them to match our window treatment. Over all it's an excellent price and the quality is very nice. I would recommend to anyone who on the fence about purchasing. Go ahead you will not be disappointed.

Each bar stool took about 45 minutes to assemble. They are comfortable and sturdy. We had guests over the holidays who mentioned how much they liked the stools. We put felt pads on the bottom of the legs since they will primarily be on wood floors, and these worked great.

Broke after four months use

Ordered this chair 7/2007, and four months later the chair broke. Something let go in the mechanism that allows the back of the chair to recline. The "Seat posture adjustment" lever no longer has any effect. Without seeing a working chair, cannot tell what exactly is wrong, by there is a heavy chromed bolt that is loose, and probably should not be.Four months use is a not a good deal.In construction this chair seems a notch about the usual inexpensive office chair. Free air circulation makes this chair much more comfortable on hot days.Design-wise this chair is a near miss. Not by any means fancy, but generally well done - with one exception: There is not quite enough support on the back of the seat, and the metal frame there is too close. This might not be an issue for someone lighter than my 240lbs. Fairly small design changes could remove this problem.Note also that the covering on the elastic is a bit rough. Does not bother me, but might be move of a problem for someone more thinly clad or more sensitive.I cannot recommend this product as-is.

Like a review stated above, after a few months the axle bolt in the chair-back hinge broke for me. The annoying thing is, this is my second bungee chair, and both died the same way (different manufacturers, too).I am not unusually heavy, and do not sit violently.On the plus side, the "bungee chair" concept is brilliant. Both that I've had were amazingly supportive and comfortable; you can sit long stretches without fatigue. I will likely try a third, but this time with a fixed back. If I find a way to break *that*, I might examine some of my life choices.

I have this chair at work which my company purchased about 2 years ago. I spend a lot of time in the chair as you might imagine. When I first got it I was shocked by the appearance and wondering how the chair would actually work. To my surprise and delight the chair has performed better than any I have had. Even when I was transferred to another location I took the chair with me!It is much more durable than it look with high grade steel and stainless bolts holding it together. The controls work well and it is very comfortable even if you are wearing a suit which I do. The bands are somewhat like bungees and offer good support while allowing air flow. There appears to be another model sans headrest but I am talking about the one pictured. I think the headrest is also a good addition because of the support it offers when leaning back. I would recommend this chair to anyone who wants a durable, comfortable seat at their desk!

Did they bother testing putting these things togther???

I decided to buy 3 of these stools for my kitchen island. My husband and I have been on a shopping spree of buying furniture lately that requires us to put it together, which we don't mind at all. Recently we put together a night stand with 2 drawers and a dresser with 6 drawers and had no problems at all. With that being said, I think these are the worst design ever as far as how they are put together. The pieces and tools could have been much better thought out. The instructions do not clearly explain which way to turn the side slats at the top and you need to have the large holes on the bottom. If you don't figure that out on your own you will end up taking it apart and starting over. Also, the seat is screwed into the base and the wood of the seat is cracked and soft and the screws weren't really the right size. We had to find better screws and use toothpicks to rescrew the screws into the holes in the seat. I would have thought these would have been the easiest items to put together, but the manufacturer didn't put any thought into how the customer is going to have to consrtuct these stools. I recently bought 2 stools for my daughters that were so much better thought out in terms of construction. We did keep the stools and got them put together last night. They look great, but do rock a little. If you can find the same stool from another company I would buy those. Maybe they thought out their design and instructions a little better. They were also suppossed to come with 8 regular washers and 8 spring washers, but all 3 boxes were without the 8 regular washers. We built them anyway and I doubt it'll matter. Also one of those little wooden dowels was broken, but I just built it without using that too, because there were 2 support screws.I'm glad I have these stools and they look great, not cheap, but come on manufacturer, a stool should not be these hard!

Unsafe for anyone over 100 pounds. Very poor construction details, nothing fits together and screws do not screw into designated areas. Purchased in December and still not reimbursed for return. This product is a liability to anyone who purchases it.

These are great stools especially for the money. Bought them as extras to go along with my Pottery Barn stools with backs. They're great! Look great! They appear to have required screws to hold the seat in at some point. The screws were not provided, and the directions seemed to have been changed, but I just pushed wicker seat down between four corners and they're still very stable. You could add the screws if you want, the holes are still there in the wood, but it's not necessary.

I guess I didn't realize that I would have to put this rocker together, but it only took about an hour. The wooden pieces were well made, had extremly smooth surfaces with no rough edges, and turned out to be very sturdy. My granddaughter loved it!

This is a sturdy little chair. However, it was poorly packaged with some uncovered wood pieces thrown loosely in the box. Some of the wood was unevenly stained with whitish blotching and some burn-like lines on some pieces. It assembled easily. I'll have to repair the blotching for it to be presentable.

This little girl's rocking chair is good quality and sturdy. I painted my grandchild's name on it and gave it to her for Christmas. She loved it and stayed in it the whole time we opened presents. She is 5 years old and it fit her perfectly.

The rocker was fairly easy to assemble and seemed sturdy. We gave this to our granddaughter on Christmas day. Unfortunately, one of the runners broke on the 29th after only 5 days of use! For $60 you'd expect a quality product, but not so with this child's rocking chair. Extremely disappointed with this purchase and would definitely not recommend anyone purchase it. I don't think it's safe for a child's use considering one of the rocking runners snapped in two creating a potential safety hazard to the child. Good thing an adult was present.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my 20 month old granddaughter. She loves to rock and this chair was perfect for that.The only negative about the chair is, for me, it is unsightly because there are no plugs included to cover the screw holes, which are a pretty good size.I suggest that the company began including these plugs and I would sure love to have some.

My 1 year old daughter loves this rocking chair. We got it for her because I had a red rocking chair when I was little. She will sit in it to watch her sign language DVD. She tries to rock it but is still too small to do it herself. She also likes to push it around the family room and play with it as a toy.

Assembly needlessly difficult

Once assembled, the chair is sturdy and looks good, but you may want to block out some extra time to assemble it. The hex wrench that comes with it is a SAE 5/32, but the screws appear to be metric, so the wrench doesn't fit snugly in the socket. Coupled with the fact that the pilot holes are not large enough for the screw, and you will end up spending way too much time putting the chair together, your hands will be sore, and you will probably have scratches on the wood from the hex wrench slipping out of the socket multiple times. If you purchase this, you should also purchase a metric hex set, unless you want to be up till 1:30AM like I was.

This stool is a pain in the butt, literally! I didn't expect much for the price and that's exactly what I got... not much. The seat padding is terrible and you won't be able to sit on it for long, certainly not the hours required when doing hobbies and so forth. It's not adjustable in any way that a reasonable person would deem convenient, it requires that you take it completely apart to adjust the height.Seriously, save your money and buy something different. Unless you're buying it as a present for somebody you don't like, then by all means go right ahead.

Great style, size, and function

We recently bought this ottoman to replace our coffee table, as our 6 month old will be moving around soon, and wanted to try to eliminate as many sharp corners as possible from the living area. This ottoman is perfect, it's soft enough to put your feet up on, but firm enough to still be able to set drinks, etc. on. The size is great for a coffee table replacement and it has plenty of storage for toys/blankets/books. The lid does stay open on it's own, so kids won't smash their fingers. The color is very dark espresso, basically black, but that worked great for our room, and the quality and the style looks very nice. We're very happy with this purchase!

We had shopped around a little for an ottoman for my son to store his toys in, that would look nice in the living room. Bought one locally that once we got home realized was ripped, took it back and all the others in stock were damaged in some way.Found this one. It is real leather (or at least really feels like real leather), made very well. The lid stays up on it's own, so no smashed fingers. Its a dark dark brown- almost black, which worked well for us. It is on the short side, again works great for a toddler to put things in and I'm not too worried if he falls off.We are super happy with it. It's a great size and hold lots of toys, and when the kids out grow that, it will be perfect for other storage. And it provides extra seating for big gatherings!

My wife and I just moved into another house and we needed an ottoman. Needless to say we shopped all over and included Macy,Walmart,Pennys and local furniture stores here in south Florida. We clicked on to a different ottoman and was directed to this site. We never bought from Amazon before and it was a shopping pleasure. The ottoman came four days before expected by UPS and all I had to do was unpack the carton. The price was at least two hundred dollars less than any other leather ottoman out there. The quality is great and we are using it immediately. Buy it.

Easy assembly and exceeded my expectations for the level of quality. The only issue was with the shipping, delivered in the middle of a snow storm, the driver dumped the pallet in the driveway and left.

This came and the box was almost destroyed. After getting the chairs and the bench put together we started on the table. Table had a huge deep scratch across the top about 12" in three directions. Called to get it replaced. Ok after about a week, then took 3 weeks to get the new one. Box ok. But the top of the table had the veneer peeled up about a 6" X 6" area. Called to get a refund and have them come and get all of it. After about another week the refund was ok'd. But they don't even come and get it. They tell me to dispose of it or give to some charity. Stuck with two big boxes in my garage right now. I read some more of the paperwork and found out the table and chairs are made in Vietnam. Hmmmmm,,,, no wonder it is damaged. Very confusing dealing with Amazon, shipper, importer and maker all at the same time. Could not hardly tell who to deal with. Finally Amazon got the ball rolling. What a pain in the you know what. Never Again with this company!!!
