Unbelievably Poor Quality "STOOLS"

Initially ordered two of these stools, one arrived quickly, the second a few weeks later. This should have been my tip off that there was going to be a problem. The chairs were both black, well, kind of. The `faux leather' on the first stool had a shine to the faux leather; the second one had a matte finish, so the two stools didn't quite match. Within the first three months, the edging where the back and front pieces come together started to peel off, can't tell if this is glue or the edge was melted to prevent it from fraying. Doesn't matter anyway, since, at six months the faux leather started ripping along the stitching where the front panel was sewn to the back panel. Noticed I wasn't the only customer with this problem. I love the design of these chairs, but, the quality of them is...well...a synonym for `STOOL'. Appropriate, isn't it?For the price, these should have lasted much longer. Based upon what others have said, I figured I would be wasting my time to get them fixed. My previous set of barstools had lasted 12 years, now I wish that I had kept them and had them reupholstered.

These chairs are so not worth it. I would not recommend these chairs to anyone. Arrived damaged and had a heck of a time getting the manufacturer to do anything about it, or even to care. Still have malfuntioning chairs. As well, the base is very lightweight and tippy. Sheer aggravation and disappointment with this purchase. Major buyer's remorse.

This stool only lasted 6 mos. At 3 mos. the vinyl started to rip at the stitches in several places. At 6 mos. the gas piston failed and will now only stay in the full down position. The mfr. offered me a new piston but it cannot be removed for replacement. They sent me a new seat but I don't expect it to last. I also bought the backless version of this same stool at the same time and it too is ripped at the stitches.Winsome Wood Air Lift Adjustable Stools, Set of 2 These stools are very poor quality.

The edges of the seats started fraying within a few months. They are made very cheap rexine. Now I'll have to throw them away. Also the rubber covering on the levers that raise/lower you were broken right from the beginning.

Great, well-made leather storage ottoman. They measure 18"W x 18"L x 16"H. A perfect size to slide underneath my sofa table for extra seating. I am extremely happy with the quality. They are safety hinged to prevent the tops from slamming down. They arrived perfectly and were packaged very well. No regrets with this purchase whatsoever!

This ottoman looks really nice and the stitching goes well with the other furniture I have. Although its a tad darker brown than what i would have wanted, the photo must have been taken in very bright light. The storage inside is great. Had one problem which i didn't notice when i took it out of the package. When i lifted it up onto my bed to vacuum shortly after I got it, I noticed that one of the legs was cracked through and half of it was about to fall off. I fixed it up with some glue and electrical tape (the legs are nearly black). And seems to be holding for now. It seemed as though the screw they used went in cock-eyed and caused it to split. Otherwise I'm happy that it was inexpensive compared to a lot of them that I looked at.

This was a $99 Gold Box special and I bought it on a whim (Especially glad I did now that I see the higher, "regular" price). It comes in very handy and looks great. The storage compartment is a useful bonus. I was concerned with the "Made in China" sticker slapped on the bottom of it (no assembly required, fyi), but it is well made and sturdy. A great room accessory that will match many styles you may already have in your home.

I just received my ottoman, purchased from amazon during a gold box showing. Its amazing, perfect size nice deep brown leather with great stiching. Looks extremly well built, nicely padded to make a great seat. Ample storage area. I wanted a leather ottoman but was horrified at the prices for one and did not want to settle for a "fake" leather one. Most of the other ottomans for this price were cheaply made and cheap looking. Glad that I waited and did not go for a target or wal mart one. If you are looking for an ottoman that looks great and wont fall apart of get a hole poked through it, this is the one for you.

Great adjustable stool

At first I wanted a vanity stool but decided on something a little more versatile since I cut my son's hair on a regular basis and didn't have a stool for him. I love the adjustable height. My 4 year old will raise it all the way up and sit on it while she brushes her teeth, I use it when I apply my makeup and do my hair in the mornings, and I use it for my 7 year old when I cut his hair. I love that it rolls and is adjustable, but the reason why I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars was because I wish it had a way to lock the wheels so it didn't roll out from under you, and because the lever bar is a little hard to locate when you're sitting on it and want to adjust. Otherwise it's just what I wanted

Easy to unpack, easy to assemble. Spring-loaded riser makes height adjustment easy. I wish the wheels were a bit larger, but there's no sticking and the wheels move easily. It slides under a counter for storage. I use it more for close-to-the-ground projects than for modeling.

Oh Man Ottoman

Great ottoman..... but I have some issues. The first one I bought.....arrived promptly, but then broke my heart by having two broken legs, and a bad corner where the leather was messed up. I followed the protocol to return it, and Amazon. com was AMAZING getting it back to the warehouse, and sending me a new one. No hassles there. The replacement came w/ two really wobbly legs. The problem seems to be that a good product is getting beat up in the transit, and shoddy packaging offers little to no protection to the items weak point- the legs. I did not return the second one- b/c I truly love the ottoman- I had my husband drive in screws to tighten up the legs. And given that similar products on line cost double, I am not devastated. It would have been nice to receive the ottoman in perfect shape. But after having received two, in the same flimsy type box, I figured that wobbly legs were better than broken ones. Still a really nice piece, w/ seemingly endless storage potential- just think the whomever is prepping this thing for delivery should just slap a coupla pieces of styrofoam planking- or bubble wrap, or whatever. A Nice piece is getting beat up for no good reason, and you just hate to see that. The ottoman itself is great- wide and broad, elegant appearance, with a rich feel to the leather. Price is good too. The cheap price may be why the packaging is so stingy!

It holds several blankets, keeping our family room as neat as possible with baby toys all over the place. First off, this was the best storage ottoman that I could find for its size, in this price range. Overall I'm satisfied. I give it 3.5 stars. My only real disappointment is the faux leather. Perhaps if it was real then it would have been the absolute steal I originally thought I was getting. It's still a good piece of furniture for the price.Pros:- Has a ton of storage space. I can fit my entire game and movie collection in here (over a couple hundred cases), plus remote controls. The inside space is deep enough to fit a DVD case on its side (with the spine facing upwards).- Soft, so its safe for my 2 year old who runs around and climbs on things.- Can rest feet on it, but it's also firm enough to set a glass on- Nice simple design that goes with just about anything.- Amazon Prime!Cons:- Most people may not be able to tell the difference, but it's not real leather. It's synthetic and the brown is not quite as rich as it looks in the photo.- The feet get banged up in transport. Mine came all dented up because a couple were loose inside and the attached bolts mark up the soft wood.- Minor personal gripe, but the hinges are visible from the outside (I've seen some storage ottomans where they are hidden).- Another minor one: I couldn't quite tell from the photo, but I was hoping that the lid was hollow so that there would be a little more vertical storage space within. It has a piece of cloth stretched across it so you can't really store anything that is much higher than the bottom half, if you still want it to close.

Very nice storage ottoman.Most that I saw other places were double the price with similar quality. The leather is a deep chocolate brown and a little shiny. I have a 3 year old and twins on the way--wanted something that had storage but wasn't too hard.The padding on top is not very thick. The interior hinges are a little cheap but you get what you pay for. If you have kids but still want a little style--it's a nice item. If you are looking for a superior quality, soft leather, plush piece of furniture--look elsewhere.

My husband and I received this ottoman this week and got it set up yesterday. It arrived in perfect condition and was super easy to set up. All my husband did was screw the legs on and it was ready. It looks awesome in our livingroom!! The leather looks expensive. It's soft and comfortable enough to sit on if you need extra seats. The storage compartment is HUGE and a big plus! I have a wood tray sitting on it with some candles on the tray. I found the same ottoman somewhere else online for more money. This is a great deal and a great investment!

I really like the quality of this ottoman. It is very sturdy and there is plenty of storage space. There is a divider in the middle. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it looks black instead of brown. The color of the wood looks black as well. Luckily I was able to use it in a different area of my house, but if you are buying this to match your furniture in a brown color, don't cause it won't match. Other than that, I absolutely love the leather, trays, and the quality of this product.

I ordered this ottoman to go in my living room in front of a sectional couch. I absolutely love it! The leather is a beautiful mahogany color with lovely top stitching. The storage compartment easily fits our four throws. The two lid pieces turn over to reveal trays that you can use for drinks or decorative items and are also a pretty mahogany colored wood. This is a great piece of furniture! It's sturdy, not flimsy and is perfect with a sectional. It was also a great price. I would definitely recommend!

Overall this was a great purchase. I got it on sale, and only paid about $180 with free shipping. The weight and durability of the item is great. Has a good feel to the leather and stitching seems to be good quality. The wooden trays are heavy, which is nice for durability, but not so nice if you plan to go in and out of the ottoman storage area regularly.Love the look - we have black leather couches, so I was counting on espresso to look black, and it does. If you want brown, this is not brown.Storage area is big, but split into 2 rectangular areas - the divider is structural - to allow the two trays to fit appropriately. Legs assemble easily and slide nicely on wood floors.The only thing that could have made it a bit better, was to be taller - it's only 18" tall. Since the legs are simple screw in pegs, I'm considering making some taller legs by hand, but haven't decided if it's worth the trouble.

Chose these to go at the counter next to my grand piano. The finish is very much like the ebony finish on the piano, and the line of the seat back is simple but nice. The finish is mildly distressed, so just little hints of it -- it doesn't look like its been rolled around in a moving truck for hours. The seat is on the smaller side, but it swivels nicely. The whole thing is solid and quite substantial. The best deal I saw after looking at several sites.

Made in Vietnam. Quality far superior to Chinese made. The instructions were adequate. The materials and quality were well above average. It is also very attractive. Height from ground to top of uncompressed seat cushion, exactly 30". I built this leisurely in under 30 minutes with just the little allen wrench which was provided, but a drill driver/bit could be used for most of it. My wife commented how good it looked. It has only a very slightly distressed black appearance, distressed with just a very, very subtle reddish color. I've already ordered another as this was just a test purchase. Packaged very well and protected. Also seemed very sturdy. A 200 lb + person should have NO issue. Can't go wrong with this purchase.

Decent chairs for the price

Let's face it: these are cheap chairs. I wasn't expecting quality craftsman built pieces, so there were no surprises there. These are simple inexpensive little chairs that aren't trying to be more than they are.The zebra wood finish is an interesting texture, though a little on the shiny side for me. These have a bit of a retro look to them, the colour is almost a teak tone. I bought 4 chairs total and there are a few bumps and imperfections on some of them - I don't mind the 'gently used' look as it gives them some character, but if you're wanting brand new and flawless look these are not the right choice for you.Putting them together is very simple, though a little fiddly to get the allen key into the tight spots. The curve of the seat doesn't sit flush with the frame on some of them, and a couple are a little rocky (though that might be my uneven old floors!), both things that are barely noticeable little quirks to note, but ultimately forgivable for the price point I think.All in all, you can't argue with 4 chairs for under $300!

We really like these chairs!They were shipped quickly by Amazon, and they got here fast. Everything looked great. The chairs are easy to assemble. Anyone can do it. I did, however, run into a slight problem when I put them together. The seat bottoms are curved. The curve of the seat bottom is supposed to match the curve of the frame on the chair. One of the seat bottoms was not curved quite enough though. There are any number of reasons this could have happened. I do not believe it was a faulty manufacturing, I believe heat or humidity may have played a factor after the pieces were manufactured.The result was that when I screwed in the the fasteners that hold the seat to the frame on one of the chairs, the seat bottom was forced to curve snuggly into place. Not being curved enough, the wood on the seat bottom cracked down the middle..*yikes*At first I was hesitant to contact Amazon.I thought it would be a big hassle because they are such a large company... but it turned out to be one of the best experiences I've had in customer service.Anywhere.There are several different ways that you can choose to contact Amazon. I elected to speak to someone on the phone. Within seconds of entering my phone number online, an Amazon representative was calling me.Incredible.I described the problem and the person on the other end of the phone listened to everything I said. She then gave me several different options towards resolving the problem, and gave me my pick of which one to choose.Within five minutes, the issue was completely resolved.I was totally blown away with the level of courteous, and complete customer care at Amazon.I'm still amazed.Thanks, Amazon!Read more ›

Pretty chairs, nightmare to put together

These chairs are very attractive and fit perfectly in our small dining area. The nightmare was in the assembly. As other reviews have alluded to, the parts don't always fit together as they should. Two of the of the four seat bottoms (we purchased two sets of chairs) did not fit the fit the predrilled holes so there is a noticeable gap. An awl is used for the majority of the assembly which is tedious at best, crippling at worst to work with. We're hoping that with time (and people's weight) the seat bottoms will fit correctly. We did not return the chairs as it would be almost impossible to repack everything so it would fit. We'll live with it but pay more attention to the reviews of products that we intend to purchase in the future.6-9-14 Update. Six months later and the screws from the seat are coming loose. We wished we never purchased these chairs. Seemed like a good idea at the time and reasonably priced. We'll hang on to these until they fall apart and will then look locally where we can check out the workmanship.
