I purchased this folding table for my small deck, where I wanted to have a table but space is at a premium because I have a patio garden. This table works quite well as it is easy to fold up and store in the corner of the deck when I don't need it. The only negative is that if you want to move the table when it is in the open position it should not have anything on it. The table folds in the middle during any movement (see attached photo). This is a bit inconvenient when I use it on the deck to put down a cup of coffee or a lunch plate. It would have been better if the table had a latch on the side to stabilize the top when it is in the open position.I am attaching a collage of 3 photos under customers photos to aid in this review. (Update 2014: In 2013 Amazon moved where they display customer photos and they became harder to find. Since I got so many comments that people are not able to find the customer photos I made a slide show out of the photos and this video is now attached directly to the review.)Photo #1 shows the table next to a ruler, the table top is at 20" from the ground. The table comes in a nice clay color. I put a piece of white paper on top of the table, so you can judge the color better.Photo #2 demonstrates the folding flaw I mentioned earlier. I just grabbed a side of the table to move it, and you see how it folds in the middle causing anything on top of it to slide or fall.Photo #3 shows how the table opens from the folded position: first lift the two side of the top and then slide them together. As they slide the legs automatically extend.This table works well when space is limited, and I have enjoyed using on my deck. Wasted money. We bought a couple of these 10-12 years ago for $8 each and they were great tables! Haven't had to replace them until now as they do eventually degrade in the sun like all resin/plastics do.However, THE PICTURES SHOWN HERE ARE OF THE "OLD" MODEL!!! but what you get is a very cheap and flimsy newer model. The top of the old ones were smooth and of thicker plastic. The tops of these are so flimsy and thin you can see the ridges where the top is molded to the support brackets underneath.While it doesn't affect sturdiness (or lack thereof), the bottom supports shown do not extend beyond the legs. I mention this only to show you the difference between the "really great" tables and the newer "really cheap and flimsy" tables.STAY AWAY from these, especially if you're thinking you are getting the same quality tables as they used to be. These are nothing more than a cheap knock-off version of those old, very good tables - very sad. We're so disappointed. Considering these were $10 MORE than the old ones, I was really hoping to get the same quality stuff. Fooled us this time, won't fool us again. We're staying away from anything with this brand from now on.

My apartment balcony is narrow and long, and I wanted an inexpensive table so I could sit out there and have morning coffee and read the paper.This is exactly the right size. It's a tough little resin table - not cheap plastic, so it feels sturdy and cleans easily. It sits next to my deck chair without sacrificing too much space or crowding out my balcony. The cheery red colour is bright and happy, and I've found it attracts hummingbirds, which was an unexpected bonus.

I have three of these Adams tables (plus other Adams products) for my patio, garage, etc. - but two side tables were finally getting a bit weather-beaten after several years of "outstanding" duty. However, the new ones are about half as stable as the old version, the bracing is far inferior and reduced in size (unlike the picture), and the thickness/gauge (toughness) of the plastic for the entire table is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH thinner. Wobbly and flimsy. These new tables will never last!!!!Side note: I am always baffled when a manufacturer has a great product - and then chooses to make it a cheap piece of near-future landfill trash. They may save a few short-term nickles on production (or import) costs but sacrifice repeat business and customer loyalty/satisfaction in the process. Eventual Corporate Suicide.

OK BOUGHT FOR YARD but ended up using in my house...so handy, no need for coasters...i use in family room for lap top, the occasional ice water or coffee...folds up in a sec. and sturdy as wood...my only gripe is that i did not buy more!

I bought this table as a camping table so I had a spot to put my book and my drink when I'm sitting in my chair around the campfire. This table is great for that. First, it's super light weight and easy to transport and fold up. When packing up for camping, it can fit anywhere. It's a good size for holding a few items and keeping things out of the dirt and bugs. However, these benefits come at a price. The table is so light weight, that it's easy to knock over. It's not an item that I would use on my back deck as a permanent fixture for garden parties, but for certain applications, like what I use it for, it is perfect.

This piece of furniture is made well and was easy to assemble. It looked good and was very sturdy. We used it right off and it did a great job. We use it for extra seating when we need more than our normal 4 chairs when visitors come.

Nice heavy, solid wood table that is serving as a coffee table in my apartment. Needed a functional, attractive piece of furniture that will remain stable through the years with a small area footprint. Very attractive piece. Extremely well packaged with layers of styrofoam, table top corners were protected with wood and styrofoam. Legs were boxed separately and also very well protected and then secured in place with rope to prevent rattling around during shipment. No damage at all during shipping. Would estimate this weighs 50 lbs. Assembly was easy with bolts, locking washers and all hardware needed (including allen wrench). Instructions were simple and straightforward. You may need a utility knife, a tool to pull staples (I used vice grips), and a screwdriver to assist in unpacking. You can't go wrong with this. Great purchase! Quality wood & very sturdy! Shipped to Hawaii and received without a single scratch!

Pretty sturdy little ottoman

I bought this for two reasons: 1) I wanted a solid surface to write on and place my computer keyboard on, and 2) I wanted a soft surface to plop my feet on.This ottoman does the job. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted 2 little flip covers or one long flip cover, like this one has. I like the long single flip cover because it can hold pretty much anything I throw at it - papers to grade (I'm a teacher), remotes (I have 3), keyboard and mouse (I'm using it right now to type this review), and even dinner. Inside there is plenty of room. My queen-sized blanket, keyboard, mouse, remotes, and more, can all be stored at the same time.The 2 little ottomans that fit inside the larger storage bench are tough. They've supported my 6' 235lb body well so far. They're not the most comfortable, but then again, they probably weren't meant to accommodate a person of my size for as long as I sit on them (sometimes hours at a time).My only complaint is that the 2 little ottomans I use as stools could also have had removable lids, so that they can be used for even more storage. I live in a small apartment, and any storage space I can get helps.Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. The picture represents the color well. For the price, it seems well-built and durable.

I opened the box after it arrived, I was expecting a decent ottoman but was not prepared for what I saw. Completely gorgeous! What a deal at the price, I thought from the reviews it would be fairly cheap but it doesn't look it at all as well as I expected the sides to be fabric, which they are but I thought it would just be the inside of the fabric on the outside for walls, not so it has another layer inside covering the frame which I add is a much more durable frame than expected. This set far exceeds my expectations, it is completely gorgeous, don't hesitate to purchase. I almost got it without the small ottomans but to buy them separately would have been about $35 each so get this one, they come with it and you will kick yourself if you don't! This piece although I measured them out before buying was actually a little bigger than I thought which is awesome also. much more impressive and expensive looking when it arrives and you see it than in the pictures.* about a week after receiving this set one of the small ottomans completely broke. I mean broke bad. So incredibly disapointed. The small ottomans although cute and handy are not sturdy at all.

This storage bench and ottoman set was purchased to use in a smaller game room with a low leather couch. It fits the purpose perfectly.The ottomans are a good height to use as foot rests for people seated at a couch. They are very lightweight and clearly constructed to be used for this purpose only and do not have the structural support to function as regular seats but we have used them for occasional extra seating for small children and they have stood up well so far.Currently we have been using the set daily for 18 months and it is still in good condition.The storage bench actually does work well as a coffee table, so much so that we ended up moving out a larger wooden coffee table and replacing it with the storage bench with tray upturned. (We had originally planned to use the bench for storage in a corner)I noted a few customers mentioning the handles at the side of the tray being difficult to push out of sight.What we did was to carefully flatten the handles to the side, bind them underneath with an old scarf so they were pulled tight and left it that way with the tray side up for a few days.When we removed the scarf the handles stayed flat and are much easier to push underneath and conceal when flipping from bench top to tray side now.I would suggest using coasters for heavy glasses or mugs, as the tray surface (like most flat tray surfaces) is likely to show scratches in time otherwise.On a similar note, the bench and ottomans have handled spills and bumps from humans and large dogs quite well, but being realistic at this price it isn't reasonable to expect them to be indestructible.For the price, the set is a bargain and we have been so pleased with the purchase we ordered another as a gift for a family member who also is very happy with it.

I ordered this because my roommate had just purchased the same thing (from a department store, for twice as much).So it seemed like a no-brainer to purchase the same product online, for half-cost.I normally whole-heartedly support purchasing online, when it comes to savings of this magnitute (though I do support local stores, if it's only 10-20% or something).But yeah... I got the ottoman in the mail (quick delivery...love that about amazon; just about always before even the earliest delivery date shown), packaging appeared fine - so I think the defect was done in manufacturing/boxing, and not caused by delivery...But the lid to the ottoman has a SHARP crease in the leather. Not just a dull one that is to be expected maybe due to packaging or something, that would rub-out in a few days... It's a sharp crease that runs very awkwardly-diagonally-ish lengthwise across the lid. I've had it for over a week, and it's as sharp as the day I got it. It's kind of worrisome, because it's significant enough that I worry with time and pressure (sitting, placing heavier objects on it), the crease may lead to cracks in the leather.Very unfourtnate. My roommate's was in perfect condition. Beautiful product.-----One gripe about the design of the product in-general though.The lid has [sort of floppy] leather strap-handles built onto the sides of it. They don't have a specified method of hiding them for a more sleek appearance, but can be shoved/pressed underneath the lid if desired. Not the end of the world, but would have been nice if they thought of this when designing the product.

It looks fairly nice for the price, but there were some marks on the wood. When I put the bench together, the alignment of one of the pieces of wood didn't not fit with the joint so I the wood is not firmly connected.

It came with the seat wood splintered, so I glued it. Other areas of the seat looked like they could split apart at any time, but we needed it right away, so I decided we'd just keep an eye on it. Just three months after purchase, a leg is broken completely. It really is junk.

This is cute and I bought it for my entryway for people to take off muddy boots. It isn't as solid as it looks in the picture and assembly was not easy. I would have picked something else and even paid a little more had I known.

The bench arrived quickly. In spite of all the packaging, it had some scratches and dings. However, the real difficulty was when we tried to put it together. Some of the pre-drilled holes did not line up correctly. One was off by nearly 1/2 inch. There should be 4 screws attaching the back to the seat, but we could only do 3. Most of the screws were very difficult to line up properly. By the time we figured out what a pain it was to put together, it was completely unpacked and returning it would have been a major hassle. So we pushed through and got it together. It looks fine in our entry way, but anything more than a cursory glance will show that it is a cheap little bench. I do not expect it to hold up well to heavy usage and time.We will never purchase any product by Carolina Cottage again. Nor are we ever likely to purchase furniture via the internet again. (This was our first time.) We will use it as we intended for a time, but just until we find "the perfect piece" for the entry way. Then it will be regulated to an infrequently used area of the house or set out on the curb for a free-cycler.My advice? Keep looking.

I had the kitchen nook and table for a while and finally decided to get the matching bench to avoid having to drag chairs to the table when there were extra people. I ordered this and it arrived. The assembly was easy and the instructions were straightforward. I was a little concerned that one of my friends would break the bench as he weighs 420 pounds and there was no weight limit anywhere in the instructions or on the box. Well it is handling his weight without so much as sagging. I am impressed at how sturdy this bench is. The only thing I think I need to add is some sort of sliders or feet so that it does not scratch up my wood floor like the table did.

Sturdy enough to use as a porch bench

I wanted a very narrow, backless bench to use on our brick front porch/entry way. Since our house is a Victorian cottage style I really wanted something with a wrought iron base; but, everything I found was 1) too wide- I didn't want it to dominate the entry or be visible from the street and 2) Holy Moly were they expensive! (Many hundreds of dollars)And then I saw this on Amazon. It seemd too "country" for my style but I thought for that price I could paint it to get more of the look I wanted. When it arrived I was surprised at how sturdy and well made it was. Yet it was still easy to put together. I did use a power screwdriver though. The wood is very dense and I don't think I could have done it manually. The finish is excellent which would mean more work (sanding) if I wanted to paint it.After putting in place, I was very pleased. It is perfect for the space and sturdy enough to comfortably sit down and take off shoes with no wobbling at all, hold packages that are delivered, and display a Christmas Santa ;-). Because it is 4" narrower than most benches, a very large person might not be comfortable for an extended period of time but it is definitely sturdy enough to hold weight- my husband and I sit side by side on it with no problem at all. We have the most brutal summer heat in the country here but since it is not going to be exposed to direct sunlight or the elements I believed this bench will last for many years.And very pleased to say that I think it looks great with no alteration! Somehow in its surroundings it looks more "cottage" than "country".

I thought that this would be sturdy, but it wasn't, not from the moment that we put it together. The screws keep loosening and the bench moves on the legs even though only children are using it. I am not impressed. Also I bought 2 benches and they are both like this.

I have a big house but my kitchen is an odd size and my kitchen set just looked out of place. Everything I looked at was way too big. I saw this and ordered the benches and the table. Now these are not expensive so don't expect a heavy high quality wood. These are very light and I suspect they won't last for years, but for the price, these work great and are small but fit four easily. The pine color is fine but I painted mine and stenciled it and I am constantly asked - where did I get that set....:) Good purchase. Oh, and I just ordered a third bench for the end of my son's bed.

This bench is a decent product for the money...it is not solid wood but actually somehighly compessed fiber or paper....it's probably as strong or stronger than wood but not wood!I also purchased the table and corner nook, they match perfect.The table arrived damaged 3 times and it was replaced by Linon customer service 3 times...they couldn't have benn better. I would have been hesitant to replace the table 3 times but they did.The packaging was not adequate for the table but Ok for bench and corner nook.You get what you pay for....my packages said it was made in Vietnam not China!

I liked this the 1st time I saw it, something about it just catches your eye. People always compliment me on it and thats always a good thing.Its fairly easy to put together but with at least two people it will go smoothly. One person can do it but its frustrating.One good point is there is a long and short side which can be disassembled and reversed. So that way it can fit in any corner. I have switched mine at least 3 times in different apartments.Its sturdy but not very comfortable with long sittings.The seats open up and there is storage inside themIts relatively light weight, I believe mines made of pine. My cat loves to sharpen her claws on it so one thing to think about if you have cats lol

I admit, I had reservations with this nook. I was surprised! It seemed daughting at first to put together, but the pieces were clearly marked. The wood seemed like real wood and not particle board. After I put it together with the help of my two sons, 8 and 6, I found the nook to be very sturdy. My In-laws came to visit us a few days after I put it together and simply fell in love with it!

I purchased this same banquette many years ago. Before I put it together I painted the middle parts white & left the side parts as they were in honey pine. Before I attached the seats I upholstered them with several inches of foam & covered the material with heavy duty plastic & trimmed the inside so the staples would not show. The kitchen was small & this saved a lot of room. It was very sturdy, never wobbling. Sorry I did not purchase the bench seat.Three men used this banquette at every meal & sometimes 7! The under-seat storage was a great place to keep tablecloths & placemats. When the baseboard hot water system was installed the plumber made the copper pipes & coverings to fit around seats. It was toasty-warm on very cold winter days. A small lamp placed in the corner of the nook was so inviting. Always received lots of compliments regarding the banquette. I wish I could have taken it with me when I moved. I am now recommending it to my friends for their new, small kitchen & will help them put it together...which was not complicated, at all.

I rated this item with 5 stars!! For the money, you cant go wrong. I bought this because I am on a budget and it will be used by 3 boys and I wasn't spending a lot of money on something made of oak only to be destroyed anyway. I consider myself to be an extremely good handyman and can tackle 99% of any homeowner project out there. This project went together with ZERO issues. Everything fit together like it should. I did not have to re drill holes for the dowels. I used glue on all joints as well as inside all dowel holes and tightened all screws with an 18V drill set on the 3rd clutch setting so as to not strip out the hole or the head of the screw. I went back and tightened all fasteners by hand afterwards. I could not be happier with the finished project. This bench is on week number two of use and no issues so far. It gets used 3 times a day, everyday. I will update this rating in 6 months if this item is still available here. For those of you that had fitment issues or problems putting it together, you should re evaluated your handyman skills or use the proper tools. Speaking of tools needed, all I used was the drill to make the job go a little faster, a screwdriver to securely fasten the screws, a small rubber hammer to seat the dowels and panels into the dowels, and a small container of wood glue for extra measure. If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

First Sears sells it for $200 bucks and guess what table and bench is included.Now as almost everything mass produced and made to be assembled by costumer it is not perfect and it has some flaws(middle part has not exactly matching holes to assemble it).Now from my side I did not expect anything perfect and durable for the price and having 3 kids (girl is like 2 boys) I do expect to be beaten to the last minute it will be capable to survive.Assembly is not horrible if you do have some experience assembling furniture.In my case I knew it have to be much more solid than it is constructed to survive at least few years (possibly more), so I use wood glue everywhere. also to add even more sturdiness I used 18 gauge air gun with 1 3/4" and 1" long nails. Nail gun was very useful at middle part assembly where holes did not match for installing screws (plus if you are not careful enough you will strip wood=remember wood is very soft). Whenever I miss shot nail I just simply cut it push it in and fill hole with polyurethane filler, done. Whole thing is now very sturdy, that saying after seeing my kids running on it, slamming seat storage cover constantly (they already left finger there....so they may stop for a while), crawling underneath and appearing on top off middle shelf....It is being tested every single day, they treat it as a play ground toy.It gets scratches, dents, miss coloration from food......,I expect it to be beaten and it is and so far 2 weeks and it is still standing.

I bought 4 of the benches. They were sturdier than I thought and were a breeze to put together. I spent more time throwing away the packing materials than actually screwing the legs on. They are level and made of a heavy material so they don't tip over easily. I can push them under the kitchen table instead of having regular chair backs cluttering up the room. Plus you can squeeze an extra person in at the table without having to push chairs about. Good value for the money.I wrote the above paragraph about 5 years ago. These benches have withstood the test of time. They are rugged, and dependable. I think only once in the 5 years that I needed to tighten the bolts holding the legs on. Keep in mind that I have a BUSY household with kids leaning back the benches on 2 legs, sometimes dragging them outside to sit by a bon-fire etc. I really got my $ worth in these benches, and highly recommend them.

I bought a 47 inch flat screen and was shocked to learn the stands can be more costly than the TV! This bench is the perfect size and it is heavy and sturdier than most of the expensive stands. Looks wise it is fresh and clean nd looks good in asny room.

Very pleased with product. I had been looking for a bench that matched a dining room set purchased almost 20 years ago. THird party interaction was seamless. Assembly of item was easy, just an allen wrench, and construction is very sturdy.

This bench met all my expectations in terms of color, quality, durability, and cost. This matches our current table perfectly and we needed additional seating at our table. My son & daughter sit on this for every meal and even with the food, markers, etc that get on the bench I am able to clean it and it still looks great. The size specs were also right on. I was happy with the shipping & assembly was simple for my husband (an engineer).

We bought this as we now have four kids and the chairs for our table were taking a beating and we needed more seating anytime we had company. This was a bit longer that some others I looked at, and fits our table perfectly. My father was here when it arrived and he expected that it would require a lot of assembly. Not so! It took me about 15 minutes to put together and seems very sturdy and well put together.Looks just like the picture and seems to be a good product.

We put this in our entryway, with some baskets underneath to hold our shoes. I was so impressed by the color and quality of the wood. The finish is nice and the natural color the wood really shines through. It was easy to assemble and feels very sturdy. It's a great value for the price. I would recommend this to others needing sturdy kitchen/functional furniture!
